Summary
So, which crossover alignment is best? As you
might have expected, there is no one alignment
which is better than all others in all respects. They
each have their merits and drawbacks, and the final
selection will depend on which of these factors is of
most significance to the application.
However, it is useful to compare each of the main
features for each alignment so that it is possible to
place each alignment in order of superiority.
We will make these comparisons for the 4th order
case of each alignment, showing the traces for
each alignment on a single graph for each feature,
assuming a crossover frequency of 1kHz. In each
case, the curve for alignment (or alignments) which
is considered to be the best is shown in bold.
